On Monday 24 April Darwin Middle School held its commemorative ANZAC Day Assembly recognising and remembering the service and sacrifice of our veterans and serving personnel. We honor those who gave their lives for our nation.
The assembly began with guest speaker Lieutenant Ruthenburg from the Australian Army followed by the commemorative ceremony. The Ode was read by Lieutenant Ruthenberg. The Last Post and Rouse played by Jethro Llewellyn. Raising of the flag by Cadets Talan Kemp, Sinate Tabilai and Liam Matthews. The National Anthem played by our school concert band.
We thank Lieutenant Ruthenberg and Sergeant Elder who kindly gave their time to help with this event and to Charlie Barnes and Katelynn Lee who donated the painted wreaths. Thank you to the ADF cadets, SRC students, Darwin Middle School Concert band and all students and staff who assisted. A special well done to Dylan Mercer who was our Master of Ceremony.
Thank you to all who attended.
