Education - Creative Arts

Course Description: The students will be exposed to various art forms, skills and art processes throughout years 8 and 9. Students will have the opportunity to continue to explore drawing and painting processes and techniques introduced in year 7 Visual Arts, but also have the opportunity to create three-dimensional artwork and crafts. Students experiment with a range of media to create interesting artworks with meaning and style. Students plan their art making in response to exploration of techniques and processes used in their own and others’ artworks.

Students research and explore the use of Elements and Principles of Design (visual conventions), techniques and processes to communicate meaning in their artworks.  Students will analyse a range of historical and contemporary artworks and learn from the techniques, processes and styles used within them.
